Eureka
Eureka is an online journal about a new immigrant’s approach to learning Hebrew focusing on etymology.
Hebrew can be a difficult language to learn not because of the alphabet and the diacritcal vowels but because the language itself is composed in such a different way than English (and all the other non-Semitic languages) because the majority of native Hebrew words are based on tri-literal roots.
From a three letter root, one can form a number of words related to that original root. It’s not always clear where the connection is but knowing the root and how it relates to the word in question can reveal a broader and more complete meaning.
